Finding Balance Outdoor with Critical Fitness

Some people approach movement as discipline. Others treat it as escape. For Matilde, the brain behind the operation of Critical Fitness, it feels closer to balance.

Through Critical Fitness, the Lisbon-based personal trainer has built a more attentive and human approach to exercise; one that understands the connection between body, mind and environment. Less obsession with performance and perfection, more focus on consistency, wellbeing and learning how to move through life with greater awareness.

Her relationship with the outdoors is deeply tied to that philosophy. Living close to the sea changed her routine completely. The ocean, long walks, fresh air and outdoor training became more of a daily necessity. Not performance for the sake of it, but movement as a way of reconnecting with herself.

What started informally in Lisbon parks among friends slowly evolved into a project centered around personalised training. Sessions are designed around each person’s physical and mental state — sometimes intense, sometimes slower, sometimes simply focused on breathing, stretching and creating space to reset.

There’s also something refreshing in the way Matilde speaks about fitness culture.
There's no extremes, no rigid rules, no performative wellness. Instead, a more realistic relationship with the body and everyday life. A reminder that health can coexist with spontaneity and moments of failure and imperfection (whatever that means).

OUT Thinker was designed for people who feel better outside. The timeless round front, paired with perforated side shields offer extra protection from sunlight while giving the frame a more technical character.

Crafted in premium acetate and fitted with anti-reflective ZEISS® sun lenses, it was made for long days outdoors. Just like Critical Fitness mindset, this is not performance eyewear in the traditional sense. Just eyewear for people who think, breathe and live a little better outside. And Matilde embodies that naturally.
