As FORA celebrates its 10th anniversary, we are taking the opportunity to reflect on the many elements that have shaped our journey. One of the most significant has been our dedication to collaboration. Since our foundation in 2014, collaboration has been a key part of our DNA, helping us push boundaries, explore new horizons, and create something truly unique. Through the years, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with brands and individuals, each bringing their own vision, creativity, and style to the table. These collaborations have not only allowed us to expand our product offerings but have also reinforced our commitment to innovation and quality.
2016: Luís de Carvalho
Our first collaboration was with Luís de Carvalho, an emerging Portuguese fashion designer known for his bold designs and influence in ModaLisboa. Luís’s creativity inspired us to think outside the box, resulting in the creation of the Dry model—a daring and disruptive design that featured different colors. At the time of our collaboration, Luís was just beginning to make his mark, but he has since become one of the leading figures in Portuguese fashion. This collaboration marked a turning point for FORA, confirming our desire to continue exploring partnerships that challenge us and push the boundaries of eyewear design.
2021: FORA & Jangada
In 2021, we expanded our reach to a younger audience through our collaboration with Jangada, a children’s clothing store. Together, we reimagined our popular Rounder and Goldlover models in smaller sizes, fit for kids. This partnership was all about fun and joy, allowing us to connect with a new generation and broaden our target market. The playful spirit of this collaboration continues to inspire us as we look for new ways to reach diverse audiences.
2022 & 2023: FORA x Tema Creations
Our collaboration with Tema Creations, a Portuguese womenswear brand known for its feminine and elegant designs, was another significant milestone. The synergy between FORA and Tema, both sharing a commitment to craftsmanship and attention to detail, led to the creation of the Special Edition FORA x Tema sunglasses in 2022. The cat-eye model exceeded expectations, prompting a second edition in 2023 with new colors. The success of this partnership reinforced the power of shared values and the importance of collaboration in creating something greater than the sum of its parts.
2024: FORA by Mafalda Patrício
Our most recent collaboration in 2024 with digital influencer, designer, and stylist Mafalda Patrício had an overwhelming response. Mafalda’s eclectic style and modern influence brought a fresh perspective to FORA, resulting in a limited edition collection that embodies our shared dedication to authenticity and craftsmanship. Available in five distinct colors—Butter, Cloud, Sage, Cherry, and Coffee Tortoise—this collection gained a lot of traction, further highlighting the importance of stepping outside our comfort zone and embracing new ideas.
Looking Ahead
As we look back on these collaborations, we recognize their invaluable role in shaping FORA’s identity. Each partnership has allowed us to explore new territories, connect with different audiences, and infuse our designs with fresh perspectives. But this is just the beginning. As we enter our next decade, we are more committed than ever to expanding our collaborative efforts. We aim to work with an even more diverse range of brands, individuals and institutions, each collaboration bringing something unique and special to the table.
